If you compare a 6 foot tall person at 1/12 scale it would be 6 inches high. At 28mm scale it would be closer to 1 inch high.

GW has been pushing up the scale of the game in recent years, ostensibly so that more detail can be fit onto plastic models. Older models, many of which are still the current sculpt that's for sale, are 28mm heroic.
